A credible central bank can effectively lead the process of financial sector reform in a developing country. This book discusses central banking issues and offers a clear path to building credible central banks in emerging economies. Nol K. Tshiani is a World Bank Country Manager. He has been a World Bank professional staff for the last sixteen years. During a year of sabbatical in 2007, he served as President of Companie Financire d’Investissement et du Crdit, LLC. Prior to this position, he worked for the World Bank as a senior task team leader, and served as World Bank Resident Representative in Chad from 2004 to 2006. He had previously been an international lending officer with Citibank and JPM Chase for eight years. Dr. Tshiani completed the New Managers Leadership Program at the Graduate Business School at Harvard University in Boston-Massachusetts, and holds a Doctorate in Economics with specialization in Banking and Finance from Universit de Paris IX- Dauphine in France, a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) with concentration in Banking and Financial Markets from Adephi University in New York, and a Master’s Degree in Economics from Universit de Lige in Belgium. He is the author of the 2008 book Vision pour une Monnaie Forte: Plaidoyer pour une nouvelle politique montaire au Congo.
